Béziers
From very far you see the massive and impressive Saint-Nazaire Cathedral towering above Béziers. From the square in front of the cathedral or from its clock tower you can enjoy a panoramic view overlooking the Orb Valley and Canal du Midi. The cloister, with beautiful 14th-century sculptures, and the charming episcopal garden are situated on the cathedral's south side. You should also visit Eglise de la Madeleine, one of the churches where many inhabitants were killed or burned alive during the crusades against the Cathars (1209). Or take a stroll through the old city centre with its medieval houses and stately town houses. There are ample underground parking facilities, of which Parking Jean Jaurès, near the beautiful and lively Allées Paul Riquet, is de largest.
Just outside Béziers you can also vist the lock complex Ecluses de Fonséranes and Oppidum d'Ensérune.
