Historical Cities
Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne and Pézenas are (relatively) big cities that are situated at a 1-hour drive to the south of Lunas. These four cities have more or less the same charms: wide shopping streets, cosy corners, magnificent and imposing buildings, several museums, romantic cafe terraces, vast squares and ample parking facilities... In a nutshell, something for everyone.

Knights Templar's Legacy
To the north of Lunas, on the Causse du Larzac, you can visit a few tiny villages that were changed into fortified strongholds by the Templars and Hospitallers during the Middle Ages. The impressive scenery around them makes a visit even more worthwhile. And when you plan your day well, you can also taste cheese in Roquefort (sometimes crowded) or admire the Millau Viaduct from all angles.

Cathar Country
The Aude, the department to the south of the Hérault, is Cathar Country 'par excellence'. The many high burrows, fortified cities and abbeys are silent witnesses of the violent crusades against the Cathars in the 13th century.
